Star City Motor Madness Car Show (Roanoke) - June 26th, 2010
Wanted to get this one out on the calendar. I believe most of us missed it last year. If my memory serves me correctly, I was in California during that weekend. Anyway, I'd like to get some Roanoke CVMC members that are interested to attend a counsel meeting or two over the next few months as they plan this event. All meetings are held in the Grand Home Furniture office building on Electric Rd in Roanoke. The first one is February 8th. We need a representative at these meetings to bring the information back to the group.

assuming that my son's surgery goes well that morning, i'll attend that evening. anything in particular you want me to try to get as a spot for us? and do you know what time it's at, or will i have to look it up?
The meeting starts at 6:30 Michael. I don't think you'll have to do anything but listen and take notes (or bring home a flyer). Should be a short meeting.

Just received an email from the SCMM committee ...
Congratulation to everyone. Your hard work has paid off. Our event has been selected by Dennis Gage for his show My Classic Car. He will be filming Saturday at our event in downtown Roanoke. We wanted each of you to be the first to know. Now comes our job of spreading the word and get as many participants as possible so we can show case our wonderful event This also means our hours will be altered as voted on at the last meeting. Registration starts at 8am with the event going from 10am to 6pm. We will alter our advance registration forms to reflect this. He has given us permission to publicize the fact that he will be here filming. Again congratulations.

hey guys cindie and i was interested in knowing more about this meet ? is just for clasics or how do we go about finding out more of what we gotta do to enter to go ? let us know and we see what we can do about goin and possibly gettin a few more to join aswell ?

Shawn, click on the link in the original post (the blue word ... "this"). It will take you to the website for past Star City Motor Madness shows. The show is primarily classics and muscle cars, but you'll see other groups as well if you hunt around the website a little. Porsche, VW and Miata clubs just to name a few. Registration hasn't been opened yet, but it will be on that website when it does open.
There is another meeting of the board tomorrow night (Monday / 6:30). Anyone in Roanoke available?

Another meeting coming up on the 12th @ 6:30 pm.
There are a couple more meetings coming up for this event if we were planning to participate. It doesn't look like we have any interested attendees though so I'm not going to try and take part in this years event. Maybe next year.
I'd encourage anyone in the area to go and check it out. Should be a huge car show! Give us some feedback too if you make it.
i'll be entering the show. do we possibly have a banner for CVMC that i could attach to my canopy which will also be there to keep me from roasting?
