anyone want a 944 for cheap?
http://www.fsrpca.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=171
we have an 87 944 up for sale for $1600 it has 106k and has had quite a bit of work done including new injectors pass control arm tie rod ends clutch slave rebuilt rear calipers and i'm sure some other things that i'm forgetting either way this would make a good driver or track car strong motor and trans. needs paint and windshield

seriously good deal
Just for $1,,600? And all it truly needs is a windshield?
the guy probably has a spare winsheild around his shop - all he does is Posches and some aircooled VW's
http://autowerksrva.com/
the price actually says $1450 on his website
would make an awesome autoX car
Hmm, are you personally friends with him? Think you could find out if he still has it? I'm looking for a second car, and might want to check it out here before I move.
Also, how good of reliability does it have? And its gas mileage, out of curiosity.
I don't know the guy persoanlly
the number for his shop is in both links provided
any questions you have just call and ask him
cuz I don't know
update
car is sold, he is getting another one this weekend though - don't know the price though or condition yet
if it's worth checking out I'll let y'all know
there is nothing more expensive than a cheap Porsche......
I beg to differ, have you ever owned a third gen RX-7?
Thing is...there *is* such a thing as a cheap Miata. Also a cheap Civic. Or a cheap Mustang. You can own and run one of those cars for cheap.
There is no such thing as a cheap Porsche.

all I posted was the cars in good running codition that were a cheap buy
maintaining the car thereafter is a different matter
I can't help if you have taken it upon yourself to read into what I wrote beyond what I actually said or wrote or intended
but it has gotten less expensive with availability of used parts
if you can't do the maintenance yourself you will indeed get rapeed
as knowledgable Porsche mechanics don't come cheap
on the other hand the most expensive car I've ever owned due to costly constant repairs was a 1996 Anniv Ed Honda Accord
No harm meant, dude! I was just stating the obvious that owning a Porsche is expensive. One of my all time favorite cars is the 914--and I'd love to own one--but it would be prohibitively expensive for me to keep running...much moreso than a Miata, at least!
Cheers.
so far racing my Spec Miata has been cheaper than maintaining my former 944.....
*That being said, I miss that car and check out the for sale adds whenever I see them....
honestly guys what the hell is going to be cheaper to own and as easy maintain and with same level of performance as a Miata?
the civic comes close but its wrong wheel drive
and a mustang while cheap and fast doesn't quite have the handling or reliability of a
Miata
I own both a 911 and a Miata, I would never want to get rid of either, for differing reasons
