Who was it that was interested in my RX8 wheels? It was one of you Mazdaspeed3 owners.

It was me (Scott).  So what was the quote to get that other one fixed if you sold all four to me?

I just called a place in Virginia Beach and they quoted probably about $150 with shipping. I sent them pictures so they can possibly give me a better estimate with those. They would repair the curb rash and straighten it. Other than that the other three are perfect, less than 700 miles, no rubber. I want to wait till I hear back to give you a quote.

Scott,

Got a quote from a place in Virginia Beach. They said about $140 plus shipping there and back and they can straighten the rim and I think fix the curb rash. I sent them pictures and everything so they know the damage.

I was going to wait till after I get back from Europe to send them off since I want to make sure I've got money. I don't know if I want to sell them with the bent rim because they might not fix the curb rash or it might be horrible. I'd hate to promise you a completely new looking rim and it turns out like crap. They were not 100% sure they can fix it as well since they don't have the rim in person. They said as long as the center isn't bent, which I don't think it is. If it is I can't tell.

I'll keep you posted. Just let me know if you are still interested.

cool man i could just get them painted of powder coated as long as they were straight and not too dinged up after they fix them...  how much would you want for all 4?

Well you could always attempt to fix curb rash yourself. I've done it in the past with Bond and matching paint and clear coat. Or if you wanted a whole new color. The R3 color would look nice on these rims :-)

I'll have to think about price. I'd rather wait to see if they can fix it before giving you a quote so we'll see in about a month :-). Hope you can wait for some new rims that long.

Actually I saw where he was gauging interest on 8club. So they must still be for sale.

They are still for sale. My plan is to get them repaired, powder coated and then I'll sell them, unless someone on here wants to do that. I know I was asking Nate about powder coat pricing. Seems like it won't be too much. In the middle of a move to a new house though so I kinda put this on hold for now.

I do have a GI post and some people have expressed interest although I really don't want to ship, which will probably happen on rx8club.

Umm.. update

They are sitting in my garage. I still need to get the one straightened and repaired, which I'm hoping to do next paycheck. After that it's off to the powdercoater.

Anyone interested in these. I'll lower the price to around $800 for the set. All you need to do is fix the one bent one and powdercoat them. There are hookups here in the club and there is a place in VA Beach that said they could straighten them.

If no one wants them I might fix them and have them powdercoated a darker shade. I'll bring them to the next meet if there are any takers.
